Although summer officially began on June 21st, the arrival of Canada’s Birthday that we celebrate July 1st is when summer really kicks into high gear! Despite some popular misconceptions, we don’t live in Igloo’s. We actually do have a full 3ish months of summer sunshine.
Family and friends gather for barbecues, picnics and fireworks! A Canada Day Sweets Buffet will be the highlight of your celebration!
And no Canada day sweet table is complete without a few Canadian Favorites! I was sure to include butter tart squares and Nanaimo bars amongst several other family favorites.
Cherry pie…..
Icy cold drinks and refreshing water….
Raspberry puff pastry with summer sweet raspberries.
Oh, couldn’t forget the candy!
Something for every sweet tooth in the crowd.
A few touches of blue, flag cookies instead of maple leafs and some stars and stripes and there you would have a dessert table fit for an All American celebration!
No matter side of the border you are on be sure to enjoy all the sites and sounds and tastes that go along with it!
Lets keep the summer celebration going! Visit my blog hop buddies for more inspiration!

This all looks so yummy! I would like to know how you make the maple leaf cookies as well!
Maureen says
Thanks for stopping by Jenifer! The maple leaf cookies are just my chocolate chip cookie dough rolled out and cut with a leaf cookie cutter, and topped with rolled fondant cut in the same shape. I will be posting the tutorial on the blog on Monday!
