Around the Home Tablescapes

Simple Halloween Table Decorations

This year I went for simple Halloween table decorations. With the exception of a few fresh pumpkins and some candy, I used only things I already had around the house.

Very pleased to be joining 13 other talented Halloween loving bloggers who are sharing their vision for enchanting Halloween table decor! Thanks to Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate for another fabulous tablescape event!

How to do you plan to celebrate Halloween this year?

With no children at home, we always look forward to seeing all the trick or treaters come to the door. Seeing them all dressed up, especially the little ones, it brings a smile to our face.

With many planning to celebrate all hallows eve at home, I thought I would share some simple Halloween table decorations to inspire you to create a fun and festive place to enjoy a feast fit for ghosts and goblins!

How to decorate a Halloween Table

Start with a theme – my theme this year was simple. Orange and black.

Shop your home – this is how I start all my tablescapes. I store seasonal decorations in clear tubs in my craft room making it easy to keep them organized. I had the black spiders, black webbing, candy boxes and orange charger plates in my Halloween box.

I gathered up napkins and plates from the pantry, orange pop from the fridge and candles from the mantel.

Be creative with your centerpiece – while I will almost always flowers on my table, this year I added 3 pie pumpkins down the center of the table on a runner I purchased at the end of last season. I had just purchased some sunflowers at the market, so I grabbed a couple to add some color and texture to the this table.

Make your beverages part of your theme – I used orange pop in clear glasses to add a pop of colour to each place setting. It cost less than a dollar and can be enjoyed at dinner.

Add some Halloween treats to go with your theme – I purchased some bulk candy at our local bulk food store to add to the candy boxes. It is a nice take away if you are hosting a couple of guests.

Simple Halloween Table Decorations

I also used black and white candy sticks in the orange pop. They actually dissolved into the pop making a orangey black murky beverage that tasted like orange licorice. That was a fun surprise!

Using battery operated candles is always a good idea. I draped them with black webbing purchased from the dollar store several years ago, and still going strong!

A safe way to have a little candle light when the sun goes down!

I am kind of crushing on the simple, yet whimsical Halloween table. There is lots of room for food and extra beverages, while still being festive and fun.

Hallowen Table Decorations

As much as I love this simple orange and black Halloween table, I also loved this creepy, dark and elegantly eerie Halloween table decor from a few years ago!

A fun and colorful tablescape, Maureen. I am always amazed at how bloggers especially take Dollar Tree and other inexpensive elements and make them look so terrific in display. Enjoy the season!

Very fun and creative. I love how you mixed Dollar Tree to create a fun Halloween table. Pops of orange and yellow is always Halloween, however I do love black and white. So eerie. Last years was so fun as well with masks. Always a pleasure joining you.

Maureen, like you, I shopped my own home for this year’s Halloween table. It’s a fun styling challenge to create something new, reusing things you already have. Proves you don’t have to spend lots of money to set a welcoming table for guests. Love your creativity! Have a very happy Halloween!

Maureen, you have some great ideas for Halloween, especially since getting out to buy any new ideas are out of the question. You really inspired me to take inventory of my collection of things and come up with new uses of them. Sometimes that is all you need to get a new great look. I love the pie pumpkins and bright use of sunflowers on your table. They contrast so nicely with the spider webs and glow of your pillar candles. The contrast in the spooky runner and the plaid napkins makes it fun and interesting too. You are so right when using beverages and food as part of the decor in a tablescape. It is playful and festive. Happy Halloween.

Maureen, You have styled such a fun table for Halloween! I love the spiders on the black “webbing”. Those plates are fantastic, and perfect for Halloween! The colorful little Halloween containers are a sweet little take away for guests, something I always like to include, especially for a Halloween dinner! Thanks for joining us again for this hop!

Maureen, your table is cute, great job shopping your own home to pull things together!! I like your table runner. The trick or treaters are so much fun for us as well! We will be having trick or treat here, since our area has been pretty safe thus far. I hope you enjoy the season
