Baked Ricotta Dip

Ingredients You Will Need

  • Ricotta cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Dried dill
  • Garlic powder
  • Lemon zest (not pictured)
  • Salt & pepper
  • Olive oil for drizzling

How to Make Baked Ricotta Dip

In a large mixing bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, lemon zest, garlic powder, dried dill and salt. Transfer to an oven safe ceramic baking dish. Top with shaved or shredded parmesan cheese, sprinkle with dried dill and fresh ground black pepper. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

Allow to cool slightly and drizzle with olive oil. Serve with crackers, crusty bread or veggies.

Tips for Best Results

  • Avoid watery ricotta, or drain well if your ricotta is watery
  • Choose creamy full fat ricotta cheese
  • Use only freshly grated or shaved parmesan cheese
  • Bake until bubbly and golden
  • Adjust the amount of dill to taste
  • Use a ceramic oven-safe baking dish such one used for baking brie

What to Serve It With

  • Crackers such as Ritz or Bacon Dippers

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

    Equipment

    • 1 Mixing bowl
    • 1 oven safe baking dish holds at least 2 cups

    Ingredients
      

    • 450 grams full fat ricotta cheese
    • zest of one lemon
    • teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 2-3 tablespoons freshly grated or shaved parmesan cheese
    • 2 teaspoons dried dill
    • black pepper
    • olive oil for drizzling

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 400℉
    • In a large mixing bowl combine ricotta cheese, lemon zest, garlic powder, salt and 1 ½ teaspoons dried dill until well blended. Transfer to oven safe baking dish.
    • Top with parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of black pepper, remaining ½ teaspoon of dried dill and a pinch of salt. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
    • Remove from oven and allow to cool. Drizzle with olive oil before serving.

    Notes

    Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.  Reheat in 350 degree oven for 5 to 10 minutes, until heated through.

    1. Are there other herbs that can be used instead of dill. Also can the dill be left out all together if you don’t like dill ??

      1. Absolutely you can use other herbs that suit your taste! You can also simply eliminate the dill if you wish. You can try dried Italian herb mixture or Herbs de Provence, or just increase the garlic a wee bit without the addition of any herbs! Even just a sprinkle of flakey salt and fresh pepper on top is delicious!
