Around the Home Tablescapes

Copper Leaf Autumn Tablescape

Raise your hand if you are ready for fall!!  From a look around some of my own favorite blogs, it would appear that I am not alone in starting to add some fall decor in my home.  I am thrilled to be participating in this years autumn tablescape blog hop hosted by the talented Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate!

You will find all the awesome links down below, but first…….

Since Thanksgiving in Canada is just a little more than a month away, I like to keep my this autumn tablescape simple, and then go “all in” with the fall decor in October.

autumn tablescape blog hop

My inspiration for this table was these abstract copper maple leaves that I saw a couple of years ago in an issue of Country Living.  They were very easy and inexpensive to make, and I love the contrast of he copper against the slate blue plates.

To accent the copper leaves, I found a copper colander at Home Sense for under $10.  I set a clear glass bowl inside and then using a $12 autumn bouquet from he grocery store, I created a pretty centrepiece to add a pop of colour.

A red velvet cake is the perfect cake to accompany an autumn tablescape, and to save time I bought this one for a whopping $5.00!!  It saved me time and I probably couldn’t have made it for less than that.

I set the cake on top of one of the candlestick turned mini cake plate I made for a thrift store upcycle project a while back.

Inexpensive Ikea wine goblets are paired with crystal wine goblets with gold rims.

I opted for craft paper instead of place mats or a table runner.  I like how they had a natural element that reminds me of autumn.

I admit it.  I have a problem.  Napkins.  I cannot resist pretty napkins.  These ones are no exception.  I choose this pretty plaid with all the colours found on this simple autumn tablescape.  Red, that light demin/slate blue, yellow and an orange/copper all make them perfect not only for this table, but also for fall!

autumn tablescape blog hop

Lots of candles will give a warm glow to any autumn meal as the sun is setting earlier and earlier this time of year!  I have a love/hate relationship with the arrival of shorter days.  On one hand I love that the evenings are cozier.  One the other by January I am ready for more sunshine!!

autumn tablescape blog hop

I picked up a couple of cute little pumpkins from the dollar store.  One of the table and one for the buffet.  The dollar stores in our area are just barely getting autumn decor on the shelves, so there wasn’t a lot to choose from yet, but like the paper runners, I think the burlap speaks to the natural feel of autumn.

autumn tablescape blog hop

Now that I have shared my autumn tablescape, won’t you stop by my very talented tablescape loving friends who are sharing their own table top designs! But first, another picture pretty picture of the pretty grocery store flowers!

Maureen, what a beautiful fall table. I love the copper maple leaves and the copper colander made a lovely vessel for adding your flowers. I also love napkins and the plaid ones you chose are the perfect finishing touch to your autumn table. It is always a pleasure to blog hop with you!

Maureen, would a wonderful transition to fall tablescape you have styled! First, those hand-crafted copper maple leaves couldn’t be more perfect for your home — a nod to fall and Canada! The centerpiece is so clever and beautiful; using the copper colander as the bowl base. Truly, a really beautiful and creative table.

Maureen, what a great assortment of fall finds, not to mention the copper leaves you crafted – very smart! The copper colander was the perfect find and vessel for the floral arrangement, Orange and blue is, hands down, my favorite fall combo, and your napkins & plates pull it all together. You’re in good company with a love of napkins….or anything else table-related. 😉
Yesterday and today we are experiencing our hottest days of summer yet, other than the 4th of July – just sweltering – even at 7am. Yes, cooler temps of fall are most welcome right about now. You’ve set the stage so nicely!

Maureen, That copper colander is delightful! It caught my eye immediately as did your flowers. I especially like the large sunflower that is a little different. The burgundy cockscomb and the other small pom pom type flower ( can’t think of its name) add great texture and variety. You did well at your grocery store!
You did a great job crafting the copper leaves that added a personal touch to your table that was unique!
The napkin choice was perfect and pulled your colors together.

Brilliant Maureen! Pairing the beautiful copper leaf with the blue plates. Love it. My supermarket is low on the totem pole for flower bouquets but you scored big time. The plaid napkins are perfect as is the copper colander. Well done as usual. It is always fun to blog hop with you. Have a great and beautiful day.

Hi Maureen! I love those copper leaves – I’ve never seen them before and I think they are a brilliant! I love how your centerpiece colors coodinates with the colors in your napkins -did you plan it that way or was it one of those things where it just worked out that way? Your tablescape has a very soothing and relaxing feeling overall – what a wonderful setting to host a fall candlelight dinner as the days get shorter! So happy to be on this hop with you!

This is so beautiful Maureen, I love the soft blue plates paired with the plaid napkins and white cloth. Your creative copper wire leaves are such a gorgeous touch to each place and compliment your floral centerpiece. You have just the right amount of fall touches for early September, and you will be able to add and adjust to this setting for your Thanksgiving next month. Lovely!

Lovely table Maureen. Those copper maple leaves care so fun and creative. I saw something on the new show last night, with the designer making a family outline out of copper wiring. The florals look amazing! Blue and copper look so pretty together. The plaid napkins are a perfect addition. Happy weekend.
