Baking summer fruits

Strawberry Cupcakes

Who doesn’t love a cupcake!  How about fresh strawberry cupcakes with strawberry meringue buttercream frosting.

Lets just say 2 dozen were gone in a flash.

One thing about Martha Stewart, she always puts it up a notch, and with this recipe she has taken a cupcake to a whole new level.  The frosting melts in your mouth and is velvety smooth with a full strawberry flavor.  The cupcake itself is full of chunks of strawberry and is moist and delicious even without the frosting.

It makes an elegant cupcake that would be perfect for a summer wedding.  But would be just as at home at a summer barbecue.

It would work perfectly for a baby shower for a new baby girl!

Or when your daughter gets on an airplane for the first time to travel across the country with friends for a week, and you know all is good and there is no need to worry, she is going to have a great time, but you do anyway because you are her mom, and you need a treat to make you feel better!  Add in some retail therapy and you will start to feel better!

Or, just because its strawberry season and the berries are just so darn big and sweet this year!pink 2

Enjoy!

Yum! I love the sound of fresh strawberries used in a buttercream frosting. Now, if I could just get my garden to produce more than one strawberry at a time!

I have no luck with growing my own strawberries! Thankfully on-farm markets are plentiful around here 🙂

I don’t know how I missed this, but I did. I was probably out of town and not around a computer. They look delicious, and I must say they are much pretties than Martha Stewart’s. I love the way you applied the frosting. Yum, they look refreshing.

The strawberry frosting looks like little frills. Very sweet!
