Cozy Recipes for Fall
Autumn is my favourite season. There’s a moment every September when the air shifts just enough to make you want to close the windows, turn on the oven, and cook something that smells like fall. Maybe it’s a pot of soup simmering on the stove, or a pan of apple crisp just out of the oven, filling the kitchen with the warmth of cinnamon and brown sugar. Whatever it is for you, fall is simply the best season to be in the kitchen. To celebrate, I’ve gathered some of my favourite cozy fall recipes here in one place.

You’ll find everything from easy weeknight dinners to Halloween treats to a few things worth making just because a Sunday afternoon calls for it. Whether you’re feeding a hungry crowd to watch the game, planning your Thanksgiving table, or simply looking for something warm and delicious on a Tuesday night, there’s something here for you.
Apple Recipes: Some of the Coziest Fall Baking You’ll Do
Apples are the star of early fall baking, and these recipes make the most of them without asking too much of you.  There is something so comforting about the scent of cinnamon and apples wafting through the kitchen.

- Caramel Apple Crisp
- Fresh Apple Pie

- Apple and Pear Galette
- Upside Down Apple Cinnamon Roll Cake
Once you’ve had your fill of apples, pumpkin season is ready and waiting, and this might be my favourite!
Pumpkin Recipes From Morning to Dessert
Pumpkin gets a short window each year, and I personally think it deserves to be celebrated properly. These recipes take it well beyond the basic pie, but are perfect for any skill level.

- Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Frosting
- Caramel Pecan Pumpkin Muffins
- Pumpkin Scones
- Impossible Pumpkin Pie
- Pumpkin Roll Cake
- Easy Pumpkin Mousse
Now that we’ve covered the sweet side of fall, let’s talk about what’s for dinner.
Cozy Fall Dinners for Weeknights and Weekends
Fall dinners should feel like a reward at the end of the day, not a chore. These are the recipes I turn to when the nights get cool and everyone comes to the table hungry.

A proper fall dinner often starts with a bowl of something warm, and these soups deserve their own moment.
Soups That Make the Season
There is nothing quite like a pot of homemade soup simmering on the stove on a cool fall afternoon. These three are simple enough for weekday lunch, but served with a slice or two of crusty bread are hearty enough for a casual weekend dinner.

October brings a reason to bake that goes beyond the everyday. These Halloween treats are simple, fun, and always a hit.
Halloween Treats Worth Making
I keep these simple on purpose. Halloween baking should be fun, not stressful, and all three of these come together without a lot of fuss.

And then, almost before you know it, it’s time to think about the Thanksgiving table. Unless of course you’re from Canada like me, and Thanksgiving falls in early October! I won’t pretend I don’t love the extra breathing room between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It means the holiday baking doesn’t start until the turkey leftovers are properly finished.
Thanksgiving Sides and Leftovers
Thanksgiving is the meal I look forward to most all year. Traditional turkey is always on the menu and these are the sides that have also earned a permanent spot on our table.  Plus I’ve included my favourite way to use up the leftovers of turkey dinner.

- Mashed Brown Sugar Butter Sweet Potatoes
- Crispy Dijon Roasted Potatoes
- Roasted Orange Glazed Carrots
- Loaded Turkey and Stuffing Sandwich
And, don’t forget to set the table! I have plenty of Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas for you or for something a bit more fancy, this Elegant Thanksgiving Table will do the trick.
No fall gathering is complete without something warm to drink.
Cozy Fall Drinks
These are the drinks that make fall feel like fall. Simple, delicious and perfect for celebrating the season. Both could easily be made as mocktails as well!

Sadly, fall often feels like such a short season, and I’m always more than a little reluctant to see it go. But there’s something to be said for a kitchen that smells like cinnamon and roasted chicken, a table set for people you love, and a recipe that works exactly the way it should.
I hope you find a few new favourites in this list. If you try something, please come back and let me know how it went. I do love hearing from you.
