Cheesecake Factory Inspired Red Velvet Cheesecake

Cheesecake Factory Inspired Red Velvet Cheesecake

Can you believe I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory?  We have one close enough in Buffalo, NY and while I have drooled over their menu, I have never actually gone in to try their delicious world famous cheesecakes.

If you are new to Taste of Home Tuesday, one of my duties as a Volunteer Food Editor (VFE) is to review recipes from Taste of Home, either online or from one of their many publications.  I thought I would share my reviews with my readers and hence, Taste of Home Tuesday was born.  I have since invited fellow TOH VFE to join me in sharing their reviews, and you can find links to all their reviews and featured recipes below.

Well today’s Taste of Home Tuesday I have chosen a Cheesecake Factory inspired Red Velvet Cheesecake to review.  When I went to Taste of Home to search for a recipe to try this week, right their on the home page!

While it was a little time consuming to prepare, it was worth every single step.  You first prepare a simple cheesecake layer.  While that is cooling, mix up and bake the red velvet layer and allow to cool.  Whip up the most heavenly cream cheese frosting and then assemble and frost!  It was a lazy Sunday, so it really wasn’t any trouble at all.

Oh, and the first thing I did when I got into the kitchen to get start was to move the salt way out of the way!  I didn’t want a repeat of last week!  I also took extra time to read over the recipe, which I thought was going to require picking up a lot of ingredients at the store.  Not so.  The only thing I didn’t already have on hand was the cream cheese (which happened to be on sale this week!) and the buttermilk.

Three heavenly layers make up this Red Velvet Cheesecake, which really is cheesecake layered red velvet cake!  A layer of creamy vanilla cheesecake layered between two light and delicious red velvet cake layers.

And the best part.  No special occasion, no dinner guests, just a whole red velvet cheesecake for the four of us!!

You can find the recipe for this decadent red velvet cheesecake at Taste of Home’s featured 21 Restaurant Copycat Recipes.

Don’t forget to check out what my fellow Taste of Home Volunteer Food Editors are reviewing this week!

Until next time…

  1. All I can say is WOW! I love cheesecake, but my family prefers traditional cake. This is the collision of the best of both worlds! Thanks for sharing
