Chocolate Lush Dessert

This easy chocolate lush dessert features layers of sweetened cream cheese and whipped topping, chocolate pudding, topped with more whipped topping and chocolate chunks. Perfect for summer get-togethers or an easy weeknight dessert.

Equipment

  • 1 9 by 13 inch baking dish
  • 1 mixer and mixing bowl
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients
  

For Crust

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

For Layers

  • 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups whipped topping (divided)
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 2 packages instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Crust

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix together flour, butter and sugar until well combined. Press into bottom of a 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

For Layers

  • Beat cream cheese, confectioner's sugar and 1 cup of the whipped topping until well blended and smooth. Spread over cooled crust.
  • In a large mixing bowl whisk together pudding mixes and 3 cups milk until thickened (about 2 minutes). Pour over cream cheese layer and carefully spread to completely cover. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, until set.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and top with remaining whipped topping. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Store any leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
