I can hardly believe it is already February. That can only mean one thing! Valentine’s Day! I am a hopeless romantic at heart, but I am well aware that there are many who feel the pressure and even a touch of sadness when they don’t have a partner to celebrate the day.
Today I am joining Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate, plus 20 other table décor stylists to share our Valentine’s Day table decor.
Did you know that 20 percent of single people want to abolish Valentine’s Day altogether? Say it ain’t so!
Instead of cancelling Valentine’s day, I say celebrate it no matter what your relationship status! Go ahead, buy yourself flowers. In fact, I think everyone should buy themselves flowers all the time.
Do whatever makes you feel special on February 14th!
That is why, this year, I wanted my Valentine’s Table Decor to be fitting for not only a romantic dinner, but also a fun Galantine’s dinner party for those gal pals that you love like sisters.
Speaking of sisters, if you are lucky enough to have sisters, nieces, daughters or aunts, why not host them for a fun afternoon to celebrate at a table that is pretty in pink.
Deep down I am a girly girl and I just love all shades of pink and blush. I used this colour pallet as the inspiration for my Valentine’s table décor.
Inexpensive pink and blush spray roses cost only $8.00 per bundle at the grocery store. I arranged them in a thrifted pink depression glass vase that I was lucky to find this weekend for only $5.00.
Just two bunches of the roses were enough to create this simple and romantic rose arrangement. I will be sharing more about it, and the fun new flower arranging tool I used in a later post! There was plenty of blooms left to pop into simple glass jars.
I splurged on Kate Spade napkins from Homesense. By no means were they outrageously priced, but it has been a long time since I spent $20 on four napkins. But, when styling a table I try to keep the cost down, and often spend next to nothing, like I did for this Spring tablescape from last year.
I saved money when it comes to the table runner. Paper runners have graced my table before, but this time I went very basic and added a bit of whimsy using my Cricut Explore Air 2. Yes, you can iron the vinyl onto sturdy paper. Simple X and O printed in a brush font were cut out of the iron on vinyl.
To add a little texture, I draped a vintage lace tablecloth that belonged to my grandmother. There is just something about lace that just feels romantic, don’t you think? Plus, it pairs perfectly with the arrangement of roses.
A simple white plate stack features one of my favorite dinner plates purchased at Homesense a few years ago. A creamy white vintage plate purchased at a church sale sits on top.
A closer looks reveals the homemade heart shaped brownie, raspberry macaron and single rosebud that highlights each place setting.
Inexpensive champagne flutes in a pretty shade of pink can be filled with sparkling wine or sparkling water. Whatever suits your fancy.
A pink depression glass bowls of fresh strawberries add a pop of colour. And can be popped into the water glasses to add a bit of flavour.
And, just because I could look at this table all day, here are a few more photos to inspire you!
A wee peek at the no sew Valentine’s pillow I made last year.
How pretty would this table be for a spring or summer bridal shower? You can’t go wrong with garden roses, lace and chocolate!
